Seitai Hodoki and

Sciatica

Sciatica manifests as pain following the path of the sciatic nerve, from the lower back down the leg. It is often linked to compression or irritation of the nerve at the lumbar level or around the pelvis.

What is sciatica?

Sciatica is a neuralgia caused by irritation of the sciatic nerve, the longest nerve in the human body. It can be triggered by a herniated disc, a pelvic imbalance, deep muscular tension (notably in the piriformis muscle) or prolonged poor posture. The pain, sometimes highly disabling, then follows a characteristic path down the leg.

How Seitai Hodoki can support sciatica

Seitai Hodoki does not seek to act directly on the nerve, but on the muscular tension and structural imbalance that often contribute to its irritation — particularly around the pelvis and the deep muscles of the back. The undulations of Yurigake and overall joint adjustment help release these compression zones and restore better postural balance.

How a session unfolds

Sessions are given fully clothed, in comfortable clothing made of natural fabric. Please also bring a towel or body linen. An initial intake assessment helps identify the origin of the tension before shaping the session.

Seitai Hodoki is a complementary approach — it does not replace medical care.
